A journey through our story: Where we come from, where we are, and where we are headed

Sa Croqueta is the result of a constant evolution driven by passion, reinvention, and adaptability. What began as a small project has grown into a thriving company that blends tradition and innovation to deliver an authentic product to an ever-wider audience.

Today, we find ourselves in a phase of expansion and consolidation, with a clear vision for the future: to keep growing without losing our identity, bringing our croquettes into every home

2014 - The beginning

Sa Croqueta was born in 2014 in Blanes, when Jordi Gual decided to devote himself to his passion: cooking. Inspired by the dishes his grandmother and parents used to prepare, he decided to turn those traditional recipes into croquettes.

Jordi set up a small workshop in the premises that had previously been his uncle’s bookshop. Before long, his croquettes became well known in the town, and growing demand led him to seek support.

2017 - The first partnership

In 2017, Maribel Armentero joined the project, with whom Jordi had a family connection, to support this growth.

2018 - Gastrobar

In 2018, Jordi opened a gastrobar in Blanes under the name Sa Croqueta, but with the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, operations came to a halt, leading them to rethink their business model.

2021 - The alliance

In 2021, Maribel proposed a partnership to Jordi that would mark a turning point.
With the support of her husband, Jaime Guinau, and thanks to his knowledge of the food sector, he brought a strategic vision to the business.

As a result, Jordi and Maribel became business partners, and the three of them decided to rethink the business model, also focusing on the retail sector by offering their croquettes in supermarkets

2021 - 2024 Growth

The creation of the company led to a move to industrial facilities in Palafolls and the development of a franchise model for the gastrobars. The original gastrobar in Blanes remains open, although it is now run by a franchisee.

With this new structure, production grew exponentially from around 80,000 croquettes per year in 2017 to over 6 million in 2024 and the initial two-person team has grown into a group of 15 professionals.

Where we are headed

We currently continue to operate from the same facilities and grow year after year.

In addition, we take part in numerous food fairs to showcase our product. Events such as Santa Market, Girobeer or Fiporc allow us to stay in direct contact with our audience and receive first-hand feedback.

Our goal is to maintain this steady growth and bring our croquettes into every home
